Our wine cellar, a unique tasting experience awaits you
Here our winery is located inside the Monte dei Cocci. This mountain, also known as Monte Testaccio, is a historic dumping site for Roman amphorae dating back to the imperial era. The amphorae, used for transporting oil and wine, were broken and piled up here once emptied, giving life to the mountain.
The winery benefits from the unique properties of the Monte dei Cocci, whose walls of shards provide an optimal environment for the conservation of wine, thanks to the constant temperature and humidity, ideal for the aging of wines.
Visitors to the Checchino dal 1887 restaurant have the opportunity to explore our winery and be fascinated by the charm and historical value of the place, testified by the stratification of the amphorae.

The wines we offer are the result of over a century of passion and dedication to the art of winemaking.
